5 fun things to do while staying home

things-to-do-in-quarantine

Staying home all day every day can start to drag — even when you’re taking classes and working on homework. While we hope you’re spending some time checking in on your mental and physical health, you should also set aside some time for fun. Check out our list of five things to do while in quarantine.

  1. Pick up a new hobby. While you shouldn’t feel pressured to spend all of your free time being productive, if you’re looking for a way to occupy your mind and your hands, check out this list of hobbies you can pick up and get started quickly.

  2. Become a home chef. Whether you have access to a full kitchen or are looking to become a master microwaver, now is the time to flex your cooking skills. Start by mastering these must-have cooking skills, like making the perfect pancakes or brewing your best cup of coffee. Or invite a few friends to do a virtual cooking challenge and work together to up everyone’s skill levels.

  3. Become a Zoom game master. Get a few friends or family members on video chat and pick one of these games you can play online. Whether you choose to play online pictionary or try acting out clues for charades, playing games online is a great way to feel connected to the people you miss most.

  4. Find free online activities. Check out some of the great freebies that companies are offering while everyone is cooped up. Deals range from free audiobooks on Audible to free-to-play video and PC games. Check out the list here.

  5. Get your culture on. Tour a museum, visit a zoo or check out a National Park from the comfort of your couch. Check out these great virtual tours that will take you all around the world and help ease your desire to travel right now. Or maybe they’ll even inspire your next vacation.
