5 ASU jobs you need to know about

Lots of students look for on-campus jobs during college. While every job has some exciting aspects, we found a few ASU positions that sound just plain fun. Make the most of your part-time position by applying to work at one of these interesting on-campus gigs.
Group fitness instructor
If you’re in the gym all the time already, this is the perfect position for you. Be part of the Sun Devil Fitness Complex by leading a group wellness class for students. Instructors need to be high-energy and ready to lead classes like HIIT, yoga, Stomp! and more. Don’t forget to bring your water bottle to work.
First-Year Success Coach
This one is for upperclassmen only - but is definitely worth checking out. You can use your experiences (plus your multi-day training) to help first-year, second-year and transfer students succeed in college. You'll be the go-to for things like academic support, forming good study habits, finding ASU resources and more.
Sparky mascot
Who knew school spirit could count as work? There are specific height and weight requirements to fit the Sparky suit, but if you meet those (and can do a whole lot of push-ups), you might be a shoo-in. Bonus points if you’re good at handling the heat and love hanging out at on-campus events. Check back on ASU’s on-campus job search site for new Sparky openings.
Costume shop assistant
Calling all creatives. Join the SFDT Theatre Costume Shop in working on projects specific to their production season. If you have basic sewing skills and an eye for stellar design, this on-campus job might be the perfect fit.
Staff writer, The State Press
Writers are wanted at ASU’s award-winning multimedia news organization, The State Press. Be part of the magazine and online presence of The State Press, and be on the front lines of what’s going on at ASU and in the community. Plus, this is a great way to start getting your byline noticed.
